These lamps offer the benefit of a crisper, brighter white that will maintain color consistency throughout the entire life of the lamp, whereas the output of an incandescent will diminish over time. Shat-R-Shield® safety coating on halogen lamps will still contain virtually all glass, mercury and phosphors if a lamp is dropped or broken and is guaranteed not to yellow, crack or flake for the rated life of the lamp.
