Taper Roller Bearing - Cone (Inner Ring, cage & rollers). Commonly used with Taper Roller bearing Cup (outer ring) ~~ Taper roller bearings utilize cone shaped rollers in an inner ring which rolls on tapered outer ring surfaces. The rollers are guided by a cage, and the projection lines of the tapered surfaces meet at a common point on the bearing axis. Their design makes them suitable for combined (radial & axial) loads, and heavy axial loads determined by the contact angle. They are typically separable and most commonly designed with a cone (inner ring with cage and rollers), which can be mounted separately from the cup (outer ring). This design allows for great flexibility in assembly, and is one of the key advantages to this type of bearing. ~~ Cups & cones can be sold as a set, or separately, and often each cup has several matching cones, and each cone often as several options for matching cups, providing flexibility in design. These Taper roller bearings are made to AFBMA standards, and are generally interchangeable with components from other manufacturers. ~~ Taper roller bearings are widely used in automotive applications, as well as a wide variety of industrial applications including industrial machinery, machine tool spindles, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, speed reducers and trailers.
