Benefits of Training
Due to the diverse types and sizes of rolling bearings, they cannot all be mounted using the same method and tools. The Mounting of Roller Bearings course defines the distinction between mechanical, hydraulic, and thermal mounting methods, and thoroughly covers topics including bearing part numbers and features, unmounted and mounted clearances, and shaft and housing fits. Course participants will engage in hands-on demonstration of 1) thermal mounting a deep groove ball bearing with a sensor-controlled induction heater and 2) hydraulic mounting and dismounting of a tapered bore spherical roller bearing with a HYDNUT hydraulic nut, pressure generation device, and feeler gauge.
The Mounting of Rolling Bearings course should be offered annually to introduce the latest technologies and establish a baseline for proper procedures for tradesmen, maintenance, installers, and engineers. Additional training courses build on this and can be tailored for specific applications; including tapered roller bearing set assembly, spindle bearing mounting, and the axial drive up distance method for tapered bore bearings.
The duration of the Mounting of Roller Bearings course is two hours. This course is usually combined with the Design of Bearing Arrangements and Bearing Maintenance courses, which also requires 2-4 hours to complete.
